Before vision therapy, my daughter was very social, confident and athletic but she struggled with reading. She always tested just below grade level which eventually started to really stack up. For a while, we were told by her pediatrician and another eye doctor that nothing was wrong; her eyesight was okay. It took us a some time to realize it was her vision – how her eyes work together that was the problem. When we found out, we were relieved it was just a vision problem and not dyslexia.
Since doing vision therapy, my daughter actually reads for pleasure at home without being asked. AMAZING!!! She is doing well in school, and her confidence continues to build. I feel like vision therapy has completely changed the course of her life. I don’t see how she could have handled the school work in high school and college. Now the sky is the limit!

Success Story
Prior to doing vision therapy, our son was very cautious in his movements. He had very little depth perception and always had to hold onto the railing when going down stairs. He couldn’t catch balls and had a really hard time following a moving target with his eyes. As a kindergartener, he had superb oral skills and thinking abilities but was very behind physically.
We have noticed many changes in our son since doing vision therapy. He now races up and down stairs. He is more confident in sports and can catch balls well now. He has less anxiety and fewer tantrums in difficult situations where there is a lot of stimuli. He is so much more confident with his body and his reading his advancing quickly.

Prior to vision therapy, my son had difficulty concentrating and focusing on reading materials and comprehension. In sports, he seemed unsteady at times and frustrated with his performance despite motivation and effort.
Since doing vision therapy, we have noticed much more ease with reading speed and comprehension. Our son’s behavior has also changed; his confidence is improved, especially with reading and he has achieved more balance with athletics.

Success Story
Prior to vision therapy at Dr. Charron’s office, our son avoided sports and struggled with activities that involved written material. He was about a year behind with reading and writing. He was often frustrated and felt like he wasn’t keeping up with his peers.
He was evaluated by two eye care professionals who found him to have “perfect” vision. In addition, we also met with the learning specialist in our school district but at age six, we were told to wait and see what develops.
Since doing vision therapy at the Northwest Vision Development Center, our son is much happier! He is almost caught up in his schoolwork. His coordination has improved and he is willing to participate in ball games now. We also noticed his confidence is returning and he doesn’t feel inferior to his peers.
