Tip #13 From The E Report:

Use Children's Puzzle Blocks (Parquetry Blocks) To Regain Your Spatial Sense

Your spatial sense gives you an idea about up, down, left and right, in and out, near and far.  For many people with concussions, spatial abilities are impaired.  They might not see a coherent "whole" view of an object, and instead have to process tiny chunks of information and then try to join them together.   This affects the ability to drive in unfamiliar places, impairs reading, and if severe enough, it could even make it confusing to fold clothes, tie shoes and put a T shirt on the correct way.

Parquetry Blocks are a mainstay for our vision therapy rooms.  Done right, and at the correct time, these brilliant children's puzzle blocks will improve perceptual abilities.

The fact that our brains, eyes and bodies just keep working year after year seems like a miracle in itself.

After you've had a concussion, you may not feel like everything is so "automatic" anymore.

What may have been simple tasks - grocery shopping, reading, driving, hobbies or socializing, may not be so easy now.

We, at Northwest Vision Development Center have plenty of resources to help those who are suffering.

We have two approaches...

1) Long term solutions and treatments that can cause lasting improvements.

2) Short term, quick solutions to get you functioning as well as possible fast.

You might be on a very long and tiring journey already.

So... take small steps, and start with the quick solutions first.

Then as you get more comfortable with those, begin to consider a longer term approach if you still need it.
